Welcome to Talitha Rising

Now is the time for us as believers in Christ Jesus, to rise up and start standing up for the godly principles we have been taught. Today’s world has gone crazy! As I watch the news on TV or click the internet to see the latest happenings, righteous anger swells up inside my soul. Signs of the end times are all around us. Things are rapidly changing.

What Signs

While Jesus was sitting on top of  The Mt. of Olives his disciples asked him what the signs of his second coming would be. According to Matthew 24:31, he turned and replied to them saying:

“Take heed that no one deceives you. For many will come in My name, saying, ‘I am the Christ,’ and will deceive many. And you will hear of wars and rumors of wars. See that you are not troubled; for [a]all these things must come to pass, but the end is not yet. For nation will rise against nation and kingdom against kingdom. And there will be famines, [b]pestilences and earthquakes in various places. All these are the beginning of sorrows.

“Then they will deliver you up to tribulation and kill you, and you will be hated by all nations for My name’s sake. 10 And then many will be offended, will betray one another, and will hate one another. 11 Then many false prophets will rise up and deceive many. 12 And because lawlessness will abound, the love of many will grow cold. 13 But he who endures to the end shall be saved. 14 And this gospel of the kingdom will be preached in all the world as a witness to all the nations, and then the end will come.

As I have noticed while watching the news on TV, and scanning the world wide web, things around us are becoming precisely like he spoke of.

Coming Up With Talitha Rising

There’s a story of Jesus raising a girl from the dead in the bible. Particularly Mark 5:41 talks about Jesus being approached by a man who wanted him to come and heal his daughter. The daughter was already dead in her bed.

Jesus spoke out to her and after everyone had laughed at him, they were in utter amazement at the miracle he had just performed.

(…40And they laughed at Him. After He had put them all outside, He took the child’s father and mother and His own companions and went in to see the child. 41 Taking her by the hand, Jesus said, “Talitha koum!” which means, “Little girl, I say to you, get up!” 42 Immediately the girl got up and began to walk around. She was twelve years old, and at once they were utterly astounded.…)

In the Strongs Concordance the word Koum in Greek means arise. Jesus told Talitha to rise up from the dead and go forth to live her life because it wasn’t her time yet to die.  In my mind, she grew up telling others of the miracle Jesus performed on her.  Sharing the gospel of his love, mercy, and healing to others.  I see her as a strong, young woman that didn’t take no for an answer.

I am a Colorado native.  Born and raised by loving Christian parents. I accepted Jesus Christ as my savior when I was just four years old. I was baptized at the age of eight. My strong faith can be attributed to my Mother, Barbara Hickock Agnew. You can find out more about Alicia here.

My Prayer

My prayer is that through Talitha Rising you can be encouraged to find faith, hope, love, forgiveness, and healing in today’s world.  Learn to stand up for what is just, right and truthful.  Leaving behind all thoughts of doubt and compromising one’s faith.

Your Sister in Christ,

Alicia Osmera
